Community listening session Thursday as Minneapolis continues search for new police chief
The city of Minneapolis will be holding another community listening session Thursday as the search continues for a new police chief.
Thursday’s session is at the Elliot Park building from 6-7:30 p.m.
Council member Latrisha Vetaw, as well as the mayor’s police chief search committee, will be there.
Feedback from the sessions will be used in their search process.

Other sessions will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. on the following dates and locations:
- Monday, April 25 at the Powderhorn Park building.
- Wednesday, April 27 at the Logan Park building.
- Tuesday, May 3 at the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park building.
Medaria Arradondo, who previously served as the city’s police chief, left on Jan. 15, 2022, after having served as chief since 2017.
Deputy Chief of Professional Standards Amelia Huffman was then named the interim chief shortly after Arradondo announced he wouldn’t seek another term as chief.
