CentraCare: COVID-19 tests will now be done at clinics, Waite Park curbside testing site to close
Residents in central Minnesota will soon need to make an appointment for COVID-19 testing in Waite Park at a clinic instead of testing curbside.
Tuesday, CentraCare announced the curbside testing site will close at the end of the day on Saturday, Sept. 3.
According to health care officials, the closure is due to the number of alternative testing options becoming widely available, as well as the decrease in demand for tests.
Instead, patients will need to have tests done at the CentraCare – Southway Clinic starting Sept. 6 and CentraCare – Sartell on Sept. 7. However, travel testing won’t be available at the Sartell and Southway clinics.
The COVID-19 test collection will be separate from other labs and will be done in the collection area. In addition, CentraCare says patients won’t be checked in by staff at the front desk when arriving for COVID-19 testing.
Walk-ins won’t be accepted at the clinics, and appointments will need to be made by either calling 320-200-3200 or online by CLICKING HERE.
