Burglary suspects found on roof of Bloomington building, arrested
Two men were arrested Thursday night after police responded to a burglary alarm and found them hiding on the building’s roof.
Bloomington police say officers were notified of an alarm going off at a vacant building in the 8200 block of Humboldt Avenue at around 11:30 p.m. The building’s video motion alarm showed two people had entered the building.
Officers were aided by an Eagan Police K9 team in searching the building, then launched a drone to search the roof of the building.
According to Bloomington police, officers found one man hiding under a piece of sheet metal and another hiding in the HVAC unit. Both were arrested without incident and were found with burglary tools.
Formal charges are still pending against the two men, who were identified as a 40- and 45-year-old from Bloomington.
