Brooklyn Park shooting leaves 1 victim hospitalized

Police say a victim is in the hospital after he was shot multiple times Thursday evening in Brooklyn Park.

Witnesses at the scene told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS the shooting happened outside the Fast & Fresh corner store near the intersection of 63rd and Zane avenues. Brooklyn Park police officers responded to the incident just after 5 p.m. and found a male victim who had suffered several gunshot wounds.

The victim was taken to the hospital. Police did not immediately have an update on the victim’s condition.

Police say the shooter fled the scene before officers arrived.

The shooting remains under investigation.
