Body recovered from Lake O’Dowd in Shakopee

The Scott County Sheriff’s Office reports that a body has been recovered from Lake O’Dowd in Shakopee.

On Sept. 4 at 7:36 a.m., the Scott County Sheriff’s Office 911 Dispatch received a report of a body located by a fisherman, floating near a pier on the north side of Lake O’Dowd in Shakopee.

Sheriff deputies recovered the body of an unidentified Black male, with the assistance of personnel from the Shakopee Fire Department and Shakopee Police Department.

“Our investigators will be working with the Medical Examiner’s Office to make an identification and determine the circumstances surrounding this death,” said Sheriff Luke Hennen.

No foul play is suspected at this time.
