Authorities release identity of body found in Red River

The name of a man found dead in the Red River earlier this week has been released.

According to Moorhead city officials, the body of 35-year-old Emmanuel Chieh of Fargo was pulled from the Red River Wednesday.

As previously reported by 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS, Chieh’s body was found floating by several youths near the shoreline at around 12:30 p.m.

An exact cause of death is still pending, however, authorities say the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office didn’t find any evidence of significant trauma.
