Authorities investigating crash involving semi in Burnsville, 2 dead

Two people are dead after a semi-truck crashed into a sedan Tuesday morning in Burnsville.

According to a crash report from the Minnesota State Patrol, a Honda Accord was headed eastbound on Highway 13 to turn onto Chowen Avenue around 8:30 a.m. when it was struck by a westbound semi.

Both passengers in the Accord died as a result of the crash; both were wearing seatbelts. Minneapolis resident Mario Padilla, 67, and Alejandro Guadalupe, 37, of Madison, Wisconsin were killed. The semi driver, Edmund Mambelo — 31, from Savage — was not injured.
