Apartment damaged, no injuries reported in overnight Minneapolis fire
No one was reported injured during an overnight fire in Minneapolis.
According to the Minneapolis Fire Department, crews were called to the 1000 block of West Franklin Avenue shortly after 2:30 a.m. Thursday for a report of smoke in the basement of a four-story apartment building.
When crews arrived, they found heavy smoke and fire coming from a garden level apartment, and quickly began evacuating and searching the building.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the unit it started in.
The apartment unit was secured, and all other residents were able to return to their apartment after they were cleared of smoke.
Officials are still looking into what caused the fire.
