Amazon workers in Shakopee to hold rally Friday afternoon

Workers at Shakopee’s Amazon location will be holding a rally Friday.
The event is part of a weeks’ worth of event called “Together We Rise.”
Amazon workers are demanding the following items:
- A three dollar per hour raise for all shifts
- Time off for holidays such as the Islamic holiday Eid
- Reducing the work load to prevent injuries
- Refunding workers time off for walking out
The rally will be held at 4 p.m.
An Amazon spokesperson provided the following statement in response to Friday’s rally:
“We’re proud to offer competitive compensation, top tier benefits, and the opportunity for all to grow within the company. Our employees are the heart of Amazon and we provide several ways for employees to raise concerns or provide feedback directly to us if they see room for improvement.”
