70-year-old seriously injured after crash with semi in Fairfax
A 70-year-old man was seriously injured in a crash Tuesday morning in Fairfax, about two hours west of the Twin Cities.
According to Minnesota State Patrol, the man and a 65-year-old woman, both from Appleton, Minn., were southbound on Highway 4 in a 2018 Ford EcoSport. A 48-year-old man was driving a semi west on Highway 19, and the two vehicles collided at the intersection at about 9:35 a.m.
The 70-year-old man, who was driving the Ford EcoSport, sustained life-threatening injuries in the crash, and was brought to North Memorial Health, according to MSP. The female passenger sustained injuries that were not life-threatening.
The driver of the semi was not injured in the crash, the State Patrol said.
Agencies that assisted in the crash included Renville County Sheriff’s Office, Fairfax Fire Department, Police Department, and Ambulance, CentraCare, and North Air Care, officials said.
