21-year-old Red Lake man sentenced over 4 years in prison for assaulting 3 others with a firearm

The United States Attorney's Office District of Minnesota announced on Tuesday a 21-year-old man from northern Minnesota had been sentenced to over four years stemming from an assault that involved three other individuals. 

According to a news release, Dillon George Taylor was sentenced to 52 months in prison for assaulting three people with a firearm and violating his supervised release conditions. The Red Lake man previously pleaded guilty on Oct. 22, 2019.

The defendant's guilty plea and documents filed in court state on Nov. 22, 2018, during a confrontation with two individuals, Taylor pointed a firearm at one of the people involved and threatened his life. When the two individuals left the scene in a vehicle driven by a third individual, Taylor pursued them and shot at the vehicle multiple times. 

The vehicle then pulled into the parking lot of a casino located on the Red Lake Indian Reservation. Taylor continued his pursuit, firing a shot towards the entrance of the casino where the three individuals and casino personnel were standing.
