2 dead following crash near Cold Spring

Two people are dead after a crash in Stearns County on Monday evening.

Officials with the State Patrol said the crash involved two vehicles on Highway 23 near Cold Spring in which both drivers died.

On Tuesday, the Minnesota State Patrol identified the drivers as 35-year-old Greg John Steil of Richmond and 52-year-old James Arthur Wilton of Fairchild, Wisconsin.

According to the State Patrol, Steil was driving in the westbound lanes of Highway 23 near Wakefield Township, while Wilton was driving traveling east in the westbound lanes of Highway 23.

The two vehicles crashed head-on on the westbound lanes, killing both.
