2 carjackings reported north of U of M campus Sunday
The University of Minnesota issued an alert about two reported carjackings that took place Sunday near campus in Minneapolis.
The first incident took place at 8:35 p.m. in the area of Eighth Street and 13th Avenue Southeast. The alert stated two male suspects were armed with a handgun and took an individual’s Volvo V60, which had a Minnesota license plate.
The second incident took place at 10:59 p.m. in the area of Seventh Street and 13th Avenue Southeast. According to the alert, two people in a black Ford Edge pulled up near a Chevrolet Cruz that had a Missouri license plate. The two male suspects then reportedly pulled the person out of the Cruz and took the vehicle.
According to the university alert, the Minneapolis Police Department is handling the investigations.
