2 Alexandria residents hurt in Douglas County crash die in hospital
The two Alexandria residents who were hurt in a two-vehicle crash Thursday in Douglas County have died.
In a Minnesota State Patrol report, 80-year-old Marilyn Grover and 91-year-old William Grover of Alexandria were said to have suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash; the report has since been updated with information that both have died.
Additionally, the report says the five occupants of the other vehicle involved in the crash – a 40-year-old man, a 40-year-old woman, a 10-year-old boy, a 9-year-old boy, and a 6-year-old girl – were treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.
As previously reported, a crossover SUV occupied by the Grover’s was traveling north on State Highway 29 and a passenger van carrying the other five individuals was traveling east on County Road 5 in Carlos Township when the vehicles collided at the intersection.
No further updates are expected.
