15 hospitals in Minnesota recognized by the American Heart Association
The American Heart Association announced that 15 Minnesota hospitals were recognized among 2,600 participating hospitals nationwide in their Get With The Guidelines initiative.
The American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines initiative annually recognizes hospitals across the country. The initiative promotes following up-to-date, research-based guidelines to ensure all patients who experience heart disease or stroke have access to lifesaving care.
The press release notes that someone has a stroke or heart attack every 40 seconds in the United States.
“Access to high-quality care is something that everyone should have, and the Get With The Guidelines program helps ensure all patients can access high-quality care amid adversity,” said Krista Moffett, executive director of the American Heart Association, Minnesota, in a statement.
A majority of the 15 hospitals earned more than one award each. CentraCare St. Cloud Hospital earned eight awards. Essentia Health East, St. Mary’s Medical Center earned seven awards. Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Regions Hospital, and United Hospital each earned four awards.
