1 treated for smoke inhalation after Minneapolis apartment complex fire
Fire officials say one person is being treated for inhaling smoke after a fire broke out at a Minneapolis apartment complex.
Crews were called to the 2000 block of Lake Street on a report of a fire at multi-story residential apartment building around 8:40 a.m. Monday.
Firefighters say when they arrived, they found heavy smoke on the second floor.
Officials say the fire was quickly put out as crews searched the building, and added flames didn’t extend beyond the apartment where the fire originated.
Although the cause of the fire is still being investigated, officials say a dishwasher fire spread to the countertop.
No other injuries were reported.
Fire officials say the unit where the fire started has been deemed uninhabitable.
