1 arrested after weapon-related assault, chase in Brooklyn Park

One person was arrested Friday afternoon following a weapon-related assault and a chase in Brooklyn Park.

According to Brooklyn Park police, officers responded to the 5800 block of 73rd Avenue North at about 1:40 p.m. on a report of a male suspect threatening a female victim with a handgun. When officers arrived, the suspect drove away and officers pursued.

After a short distance, the suspect’s car became disabled and officers took him into custody, police said. A handgun was also recovered.

Police said nobody was injured and the victim did know the suspect.
