This year alone, nearly 150,000 Americans will be diagnosed with colon cancer and nearly 50,000 will die, according to the American Cancer Society.
Overall rates are declining thanks to improved prevention and screening, but the timing of those screenings are the subject of controversy.
KSTP Medical Expert Dr. Archelle Georgiou explains why 50 might not be the magic age to start screening for colon cancer.
