Wisconsin reports 8 more deaths from COVID-19, 3,626 new cases
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported 3,626 more cases of COVID-19 on Sunday as the state’s cumulative case total crept closer to 200,000.
To date, 198,166 people have tested positive for the coronavirus in Wisconsin. An additional eight deaths reported on Sunday brought the death toll to 1,778.
According to the latest statistics, another 10,396 people tested negative. So far roughly 2 million people have been tested statewide. Over the past week, an average of 12.8% of all tests have come back positive for COVID-19.
The DHS also reported 95 more hospitalizations from COVID-19. In Wisconsin there are 1,293 patients in the hospital because of COVID-19, with 320 in intensive care. To date, 10,332 patients have been hospitalized.
So far 155,814 people who were confirmed to have COVID-19, about 78.6%, are recovering and no longer need isolation, while 40,538 cases are still active.
