Man drowns in lake in western Minnesota
Authorities say a man drowned Saturday afternoon in Lake Ida, just northwest of Alexandria.
According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, neighbors who spotted the man in the water brought him to shore and attempted to save him with CPR. Medics arrived and took over life-saving measures but were unsuccessful.
The victim was found 30-40 feet from shore in 4-8 feet of water, the sheriff’s office said. He was not wearing a life vest.
The victim’s name is being withheld pending family notification.
