"We’re very happy to present another opportunity for people to enjoy a taste of the fair," General Manager Jerry Hammer said in a statement. "It’s been a tough year for everyone, so it’s even more important that we find ways to connect with what’s familiar and important to us all. Nothing does that quite like the State Fair."
The Fall Food Parade’s tickets will be sold through a random, electronic lottery process. Those who want to purchase a ticket must first register for the lottery by noon on Thursday. No payment is required at that point.
Those who register will then be entered into a random drawing for the chance to purchase one vehicle ticket for the parade. Each vehicle ticket is $20 (plus $5 in fees, sales tax included) and includes entrance for up to five people per standard-size vehicle, according to organizers.
Those who register will receive an email by Monday, notifying them that they have either randomly been selected to purchase a vehicle ticket, or that they have been placed on a waiting list.
The Fall Food Parade runs from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 1-4 and 8-11.
