Crystal Beach in Burnsville closes due to high E. coli levels

The city of Burnsville on Tuesday announced the closure of Crystal Beach due to high E. coli levels, which can cause illness.

While some bacteria is normal, high levels can indicate contamination from decaying plants and animals. Hot weather can also contribute to E. coli levels, the city said.

The beach will reopen once E. coli levels return to safe levels.
