Victim identified in Minneapolis shooting, officials investigating
6/3 UPDATE at 6 p.m.: The Hennepin County Medical Examiner confirmed 25-year-old Malacai Bailey, of Minneapolis.
A person is dead after a shooting in Minneapolis on Saturday morning.
At around 11:30 a.m., officers responded to report of a shooting on 34th Avenue between James Avenue North and Knox Avenue North. Police found a 25-year-old man with life-threatening gunshot wounds lying on the ground outside of a vehicle.
“This is the same way that Officer Jamal Mitchell found a suspect down just this past Thursday,” stated Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara.

Authorities began CPR on the man who was unresponsive and not breathing. He was then taken to North Memorial, where he was pronounced dead.
Early information suggests the man was shot while inside a vehicle. Police state they are pursuing a number of leads related to the incident.
The man’s name will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner at a later time.
