Baxter woman dies after being hit by pickup truck
Authorities say a woman is dead after being hit by a pickup truck Thursday morning in Crow Wing County.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a Toyota Tacoma being driven by a 45-year-old Pierz man was headed north on Highway 371 shortly after 6 a.m. when it hit a pedestrian crossing at Woida Road.
The agency adds the pedestrian, identified on Friday as 61-year-old Ludivina Wirtz of Baxter, was in the crosswalk at the intersection.
The truck’s driver wasn’t injured.
An incident report says road conditions were dry at the time of the crash.
