Vikings safety Cam Bynum named NFC Defensive Player of the Week
For the second week in a row, a Minnesota Vikings player has been named the conference’s defender of the week.
Wednesday, the NFL named Camryn Bynum as the NFC Defensive Player of the Week.
It comes after Bynum tallied a team-high nine tackles and snagged two key interceptions in Monday night’s game against the 49ers.
The safety leads Minnesota in tackles this season with 69, which is also the most for any defensive back in the entire league.
It comes a week after linebacker Jordan Hicks earned the honor for his play at Chicago.
The Vikings say it’s the first time the team has had defenders honored in back-to-back weeks since Linval Joseph and Terence Newman were recognized in Weeks 9 and 10 of the 2015 season.
The Vikings are back in action Sunday afternoon at Green Bay.
