19-year-old killed in Mall of America shooting identified
The 19-year-old who was killed in a shooting at Mall of America on Friday was identified by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner as Johntae Raymon Hudson, of St. Paul.
Bloomington police say nine people were fighting in the mall’s Nordstrom store Friday evening. One person pulled out a gun, and shot Hudson multiple times.
A bystander’s jacket was grazed by a bullet, but they weren’t hurt in the shooting.
The suspects then left the store and drove to White Castle for food, police said.
Surveillance video helped police track the suspects to an address in St. Louis Park, where SWAT teams executed a search warrant and arrested the five people at about 8:40 a.m. Saturday.

Three of those who were arrested were 17-year-olds. The remaining two suspects, Taeshawn Wright and Deandre Depratto, are 18 years old.
Police believe that either Wright or Depratto was the shooter.
Police have not identified the 17-year-olds because they are juveniles.
All five suspects are facing second-degree murder charges. They will likely make their first court appearances Tuesday.
