Wild finalize initial roster ahead of opening night Thursday
The Minnesota Wild will open the 2022-23 NHL season at home Thursday night against the New York Rangers.
Ahead of opening night, the team announced its initial roster on Tuesday.
The initial roster includes forward Marco Rossi, the ninth overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft, and defenseman Calen Addison, the 53rd pick in the 2018 NHL Draft who Minnesota acquired in the Jason Zucker trade.
Only three players on the roster weren’t with the Wild or its Iowa affiliate when last season ended — forward Sam Steel, defenseman Andrej Sustr and goalie Filip Gustavsson, who was acquired from Ottawa this summer in the Cam Talbot trade.
Minnesota opens the season with four home games — including one against Colorado, the defending champions — before starting a five-game road trip on Oct. 22.
