Man dies in tree-cutting accident near Olivia

A 69-year-old man died Tuesday morning following a tree-cutting accident near Olivia.

The Renville County Sheriff’s Office says a caller reported that a tree fell on a man in the 70000 block of 320th Street in Henryville Township at 10:43 a.m.

First responders found Blair Anderson, from rural Fairfax, on the ground near several downed trees.

An investigation indicated that Anderson had been cutting down trees in a grove when a large branch connected to another tree broke off and hit him, the sheriff’s office says.

Medical personnel rendered aid but Anderson died from his injuries.
