Some Minnesota farmers say they are fed up with deer damaging their crops.
Les Anderson of Welch in Goodhue County says deer have caused hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage over the past decade.
Farmers in the area have reached out to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources hoping to get help thinning the herd.
“Reduce the deer number somehow. I guess we have to talk about how we’re going to do that,” Anderson said. “Either that or we got to get paid for our losses. We’re feeding all these deer for the public. I guess if that’s who is enjoying the deer.”
The DNR tells 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS this is a common problem across the state. They plan on working with farmers in the area to see if they can get them some help.
