Pine Co. incident leaves 1 injured, 1 in custody

Authorities say a man is in custody and a woman is recovering from injuries following an overnight incident in Pine County.

According to the Pine County Sheriff’s Office, authorities were notified of a possible domestic situation happening in Brook Park just after 3 a.m. Thursday. They were told a woman was being attacked and choked, and a suspect was allegedly threatening to shoot police.

When deputies arrived around 3:30 a.m., they tried to contact the people inside the home, and almost an hour later, the 33-year-old woman was allowed to leave the house while a man stayed inside.

At about 5:15 a.m., the SWAT team was activated, but the man walked out of the home and was taken into custody just after 6 a.m., which was before the SWAT team arrived.

The woman’s injuries were listed as minor.

No one else was injured during the incident.
