Man charged in Brooklyn Park carjacking

Charges have been filed against a man in connection to a carjacking in Brooklyn Park last week.

Twenty-year-old Issac Lamin Jalloh is charged with first-degree aggravated robbery and fleeing police in connection to Friday’s incident.

Officers went to the 7600 block of Jolly Lane around 7:50 p.m. after a juvenile said he’d been carjacked.

The boy said his friend had asked him for a ride earlier that day and he obliged, according to a criminal complaint. During the ride, he was asked to pick up three other males — including Jalloh — and take them to Huntington Place Apartments, and he picked up another male at the apartment complex.

Then, the boy said the others told him to pull into a parking lot. When he did, Jalloh hit him in the head and mouth and pointed a gun at him. The males then tried to take the victim’s phone before Jalloh got into the driver’s seat of the vehicle and drove away.

The complaint states the victim was bleeding from his mouth and noticeably shaking when describing the incident to police.

A short time later, Brooklyn Park officers responded to the Huntington Place parking lot for an unrelated incident and saw the carjacked vehicle, which then fled at a high rate of speed. Police said the vehicle was driving through ditches and the wrong way down roads before officers used a PIT maneuver to stop it.

Police said four loaded Glocks were found in the vehicle, and the victim later identified Jalloh as the person who struck him and stole his vehicle.

Jalloh was taken to Hennepin County Jail and had his first court appearance scheduled for Tuesday.

The complaint notes he also has a pending assault charge and the terms for his release on that charge were to not have any guns.
