Man gets probation for St. Paul storage facility fire
A 19-year-old Golden Valley man was sentenced Wednesday for a fire at a St. Paul storage facility last year.
Luis Adrian Rodriguez was sentenced to three years of supervised probation. He served one day at the Ramsey County Correctional Facility.
Rodriguez was charged with second-degree arson and negligent fires, but as part of a plea agreement, had the arson charge dismissed and received a stay of adjudication on the charge of negligent fire.

Police and firefighters were called to a fire at a group of warehouses on the north side of Selby Avenue, just west of Hamline Avenue, on Aug. 21, 2021. Around 50 firefighters worked for hours to put out the fire, which caused a facility housing thousands of tires to collapse.
When interviewed by police, Rodriguez eventually admitted to setting boxes of papers on fire before the flames spread, a criminal complaint states.
