Authorities looking for person who drove through wet concrete in Olmsted County

Authorities in southeastern Minnesota are asking for the public’s help to find a person who drove through wet concrete.

Hubbard Broadcasting affiliate KAAL-TV reports a construction team found the damaged pavement at County Road 105 and Valley High Road in Kalmar Township Tuesday afternoon.

The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office said a man in a black Volkswagen Passat drove through the wet concrete, causing around $50,000 in damages. However, the car made it through and drove away.

Due to the amount of construction signage, authorities believe the driver intentionally drove through the area, KAAL-TV reports.

Anyone with information that could help authorities find the driver responsible for the damage is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 507-328-6800.

It’s the second consecutive week that someone drove through wet concrete in the county, with Rochester police arresting a woman on May 16 after she tried to flee but got stuck in concrete.
