1 dead after house fire in Dunn County

UPDATE: The victim of this fire has been identified as 20-year-old Gustavo Xicalhua Tlaxcola.
One person is dead after an early morning house fire in Dunn County, Wisconsin Wednesday.
According to the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office, the fire was reported just before 2 a.m. at a home on 370th Street in Dunn Township.
When crews arrived, the home was fully involved with flames and authorities were told one person got out safely but another was trapped inside.
Menomonie firefighters were able to find and get that person to safety and life-saving measures were then attempted. However, the person died at the scene, the sheriff’s office says.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The victim’s name and cause of death will be released after family members are notified.
