Community listening session to be held Monday as Minneapolis continues search for new police chief
The third of five community listening sessions in Minneapolis will be held Monday evening.
Monday’s session will be held at the Powderhorn Park building from 6-7:30 p.m.
Feedback from the listening sessions will be used by members of the police chief search committee to help with their selection of the next Minneapolis police chief.
If you can’t make it to Monday’s meeting, there are still two more to attend, both of which will also be held from 6-7:30 p.m.:
- Wednesday, April 27 at the Logan Park building
- Tuesday, May 3 at the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park building
Medaria Arradondo, who previously served as the city’s police chief, left on Jan. 15, 2022, after having served as chief since 2017.
Deputy Chief of Professional Standards Amelia Huffman was then named the interim chief shortly after Arradondo announced he wouldn’t seek another term as chief.
