Wild give 2-year extension to Alex Goligoski

The Minnesota Wild have extended another defenseman’s contract.
KSTP Sports confirmed Tuesday that the team and 36-year-old Alex Goligoski agreed to a two-year extension. The deal was first reported by NHL Network’s Kevin Weekes and is worth $2 million per year.
Goligoski, a Grand Rapids, Minn. native, is in his first season with the Wild after spending the past five years in Arizona. He was the 61st overall pick in the 2004 NHL Draft by Pittsburgh. After four seasons with the Penguins, he spent six seasons with Dallas before his move to Arizona.
This season, Goligoski has played in 58 games, tallying 28 points. He’s recorded 457 points in 982 career NHL games.
Goligoski, who also starred with the University of Minnesota, becomes the second defenseman to agree to an extension with the Wild this season, joining Jon Merrill, who agreed to a three-year extension in January.
Forward Jordan Greenway also agreed to a three-year extension in January.
