Wild sign Jordan Greenway to 3-year, $9 million contract extension

The Wild signed forward Jordan Greenway to a 3-year, $9 million contract extension on Monday. The deal eats up Greenway’s two remaining arbitration years, plus one year of free agency.

Greenway, along with his linemates Joel Eriksson Ek and Marcus Foligno, have yet to allow a 5-on-5 goal this season.

Greenway, 24, has recorded 13 points, a plus-17 rating, 28 penalty minutes, two game-winning goals, 82 hits and 47 shots in 33 games this season. At 6-foot-6, he’s known for bringing a physical presence.

Greenway was selected by Minnesota in the second round (50th overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft.

The Wild, winners of eight of their last nine games, return to action Wednesday night at Chicago.
