Minneapolis robbery victim dies at hospital weeks after assault
A man found unconscious from an assault and robbery earlier this month died on Tuesday, according to the Minneapolis Police Department.
A 19-year-old man was arrested on March 21 in connection with the March 6 assault, jail records show. He remains in custody, police said. He has not been formally charged.
MPD states that officers assisted EMS with an unconscious man found in an apartment hallway in the 1300 block of Nicollet Avenue. He was then taken to the hospital.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner is expected to release the victim’s name and cause of death.
This is the 16th death investigated as a homicide in Minneapolis this year.
