Vikings sign 2 free agents
Monday, the Minnesota Vikings signed two free agents who were in the Twin Cities for visits.
KSTP Sports confirmed cornerback Nate Hairston and offensive lineman Jesse Davis were in town to visit with team officials. Monday afternoon, the team announced their signings.
Sources told KSTP Sports that both Hairston and Davis agreed to one-year deals.
Davis, 30, has spent the past five years with Miami, starting 72 of the 80 games he appeared in.
Hairston has spent the past two years in Denver after previous stints with the New York Jets and Indianapolis Colts. In his five-year career, he’s recorded 96 tackles, 2 interceptions and 13 passes defended.
The Vikings also announced the re-signing of cornerback Tye Smith, who spent last season on the team’s practice squad and appeared in five games. Smith has played in 45 career games, totaling 68 tackles, 1 interception, 2 passes defended and 2 forced fumbles.
Offensive line and cornerback are two positions where the Vikings seemingly need the most help.
The team has already made several signings during free agency, including edge rusher Za’Darius Smith last week after he visited with the team.
