Police: Man arrested in connection with shooting of 2-year-old
An arrest has been made after a 2-year-old boy was shot in the face Monday in Minneapolis, police said.
The boy was taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition early Monday morning after he was found bleeding from the face. No update on his condition was available on Tuesday.
Police said a preliminary investigation revealed the boy was staying with a family member who is not a parent when the incident happened. Officers said they were provided limited information as to how the gunshot wound happened.
Police say a 36-year-old man was booked into the Hennepin County Jail on Monday on suspicion of a weapons violation. Investigators are looking into the man’s involvement in the incident to determine whether more charges are appropriate.
