Authorities say an arrest on Friday led to the discovery of an apparent drug lab in Champlin.
According to Champlin Police, at around 5:27 p.m., officers received a report of a domestic assault that included threats to use a gun at a home near West River Road and Florida Avenue North. Officers from Champlin, Maple Grove and Osseo along with Hennepin County deputies set up a perimeter and arrested the suspect.
When the man was in custody, officers then went into the home and found what appeared to be a drug lab, police said. The Anoka-Champlin Fire Department was called, as was the State of Minnesota Hazmat and Chemical Assessment Team, and crews were at the scene for several hours.
A search warrant was also executed for firearms and police said two guns were recovered.
The suspect was booked on charges of felony domestic assault, felony possession of a gun and several drug-related offenses. However, no formal charges had been filed as of Monday morning.
