MSP Airport adding ‘fresh and healthy’ vending machines

Minneapolis-St. Paul International airport announced Thursday that it has added vending machines that specialize in “fresh and healthy” meal options.

According to the press release, Farmer’s Fridge is a smart-tech refrigerated vending machine that will offer things like salads, meal bowls and “healthy” snacks, such as cheese and chia pudding.

The Chicago-based company uses a special technology to track inventory, the freshness of products and to assist in fulfilling the machines based on customers’ demand for certain foods, the release says.

The airport is the first location for Farmer’s Fridge in the state. Seven of these vending machines are now available in Terminal 1; one is in Terminal 2.
