Those that have been to Rochester’s Quarry Hill Nature Center are sure to know of a bird named Horus.
Horus the American Kestrel was pretty famous in the southern part of the state and helped teach visitors about raptors in the area.
He helped teach students at the nature center but also often visited the local schools to be a part of lessons there as well.
Horus died in his sleep earlier this week. He was one of the oldest known American Kestrels to have ever lived.
