2nd annual GLOW Holiday Festival starts on Nov. 18

GLOW Holiday Festival, the second annual Twin Cities holiday light experience, will take place at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds starting next month.

The event goes on from Nov. 18 to Jan. 2.

Guests walk through the holiday light experience that features over a million lights, illuminated trees, art installations, interactive displays, live music by local church choirs, Minnesota State Fair food and beverages and other festive attractions, organizers say.

The outdoor walk-through festival event has entry available from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets are available online. On-site parking is included. All tickets include a $1 donation to local charities including the Greater Twin Cities United Way, Minnesota State Fair Foundation and others.

According to a press release, each night of GLOW benefits a local organization.

During the 2020-2021 season, organizers say 188,000 people attended GLOW as a drive-through event and over $95,000 was donated to local charities. GLOW will kick off the season this year with a winter apparel drive from Nov. 18-21. A food drive, with donations going to local shelters and food shelves, will take place from Nov. 25-28. In addition, a holiday toy drive will be held from Dec. 3-5.

The event was designed with the health and safety of our guests and employees in mind. The outdoor walk-through event comes with a limited hourly capacity. Masks are required in indoor spaces for all guests ages 3 and up. Masks are also encouraged at all outdoor displays.
