Even after the departure of Gonzaga star Jalen Suggs, Minnehaha Academy’s basketball team remains loaded.
We caught up with them, including the country’s top player, Chet Holmgren, and Prince Aligbe, one of the state’s best players in the 2022 Class.

Minnehaha Academy is chasing its 4th straight state championship, first in Class 3A. They were poised to do that last March, but the boys hoops tourney was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Holmgren, a center with legit guard skills, has a final seven for college of Gonzaga, Minnesota, Ohio State, Michigan, Memphis, Georgetown, and North Carolina.
A source tells KSTP that the Gophers are still pushing for Holmgren, with an ass’t coach talking to Chet and his dad each for over 40 minutes in recent days.
Aligbe, a junior, said Ohio State, Minnesota, California, Notre Dame, and others remain in constant contact.
