DNR urging hunters to make a plan before heading out prior to the opener
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is urging hunters to make a plan for deer hunting season prior to the Nov. 7 opener.
According to the DNR, half a million hunters are preparing for the firearms opening weekend Nov. 7.
"We wish all hunters a safe and successful deer season," said DNR Commissioner Sarah Strommen. "As hunters continue Minnesota’s time-honored deer hunting tradition, there are some extra considerations this year as we prepare for deer camp."
The DNR recommends making a seven-point checklist that is as follows:
- Buy a license
- Know the regulations
- Know where your deer will be processed
- Be safe
- Take appropriate measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19
- Get deer tested if hunting in designated areas
- Enjoy the hunt!
