2 dead after two-vehicle crash in Clay County
Two people died Wednesday night after a two-vehicle crash in Clay County.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, at 8:16 p.m., Tamara Green, 49, from Halstad was driving a Ford Expedition with passenger Joann Johnson, 79, from Nielsville, traveling northbound on Highway 75 near 200th Avenue Northwest in Georgetown Township, when 45-year-old Nathan Thompson from Ada driving a Ford F-150 was traveling southbound on Highway 75, crossed into the northbound lane striking the other vehicle.
The state patrol said Green and Thompson both died from the crash as Johnson was transported to Essentia Hospital with injuries considered to be not life-threatening.
According to the state patrol, no alcohol was involved in the incident, but Thompson was found not wearing a seat belt during the crash.
