Newman released from hospital after crash at Daytona

Ryan Newman has been released from a hospital two days after a frightening crash on the final lap of the Daytona 500.
Roush Fenway Racing said Wednesday that Newman was fully alert and joking with hospital staff as he continues to improve. Just a couple hours later, it announced Newman had been treated and released.

He had been hospitalized since Monday night and no details on his injuries have been revealed.
The team also called Newman "jovial" and posted a photo of him smiling with his arms around his two young daughters.
