In Minneapolis on Thursday, a green food truck was making its rounds to serve both people experiencing homelessness and health care workers.
"We Nurish" launched in the middle of the pandemic to help people who are home-bound. Thursday was an opportunity for them to give thanks to doctors, nurses and others by dishing up turkey sambusas.
"Just to say thank you. You’re here, you’re not home with your families. This is our way of making sure that, just to say that, we’re thinking about you, and we’re here, together, collectively, to say thank you," Kayf Ahmed, executive director of We Nurish, said.
We Nurish says it has provided an average of 450 meals every day since September.
