A new exhibit at the Science Museum of Minnesota honors the 50th anniversary of when we went to the moon.

The exhibit is set to offer an immersive experience where visitors can get up close to artifacts from the moon landing.

"We have articles and objects, and artifacts from the U.S. Space and Rocket Center. It shows everything from the beginning of the space race, all the way up until the ’70s where there was so much collaboration with the international space station. It went from competition to collaboration," said Karilyn Robinson, a spokesperson for the museum.

The exhibit officially opens at 9:30 Saturday morning and runs through the beginning of March.
